No April Fools In Austin: Plant Medicine Leaders Network For Change & Progress
Earlier this week, around fifteen passionate plant medicine business owners gathered in Austin, Texas to share their insights and strategies. This exclusive mastermind event saw the coming together of vetted Inner Circle members and non-members alike, all unified by a common purpose – catalyzing positive change for our families and our communities.
During the mastermind session, we discussed the current climate of the plant medicine industry, with particular emphasis on navigating the complexities of accepting payments within a federally restricted paradigm.
To truly understand the hurdles we face today, let’s trace back to the origins of our current federal and financial climate, which can be traced back to the 1930s and reached a crescendo in 1970.
During this time, US President Richard Nixon and his allies used dubious science and divisive media campaigns to unjustly categorize several beneficial plant medicines as Schedule 1 substances by the FDA.
This classification claimed that these compounds had no medicinal value and a high potential for abuse. However, those who have experienced the therapeutic effects of psilocybin know that it is non-addictive and can provide incredible benefits, particularly for those struggling with addiction, smoking or alcoholism.
According to Johns Hopkins Research Center, psilocybin is a non-habit-forming therapeutic compound that profoundly benefits those seeking relief from addiction, smoking or alcoholism. Still, psilocybin (and many other psychedelic compounds) remain unjustly classified as Schedule 1, alongside highly addictive substances like crack, cocaine and heroin.
Collateral Damage Of Monumental Proportions
The misclassification of these plant medicines has resulted in the unnecessary criminalization of millions of people, subsequently burdening taxpayers with substantial costs and devastating lives and families along the way.
All of this for seeking natural relief and healing.

Clearly, we can and must strive for a better future, and our Austin mastermind with Inner Circle leaders shed light on potential solutions.
During our roundtable session, industry leaders discussed innovative payment methods that liberate businesses from the constraints of a discriminatory financial system that adheres to outdated federal policies. These fresh approaches have the power to reshape the future of our industry, and it’s up to us to pioneer the movement.
A Call to Law Enforcement, Leaders and Advocates.
We call upon law enforcement, community leaders or advocates to join us in this crucial endeavor.
If you are in a position of authority, or you simply care about the health of our communities and our economy, then it’s important you understand the damage being done to small businesses and our communities in this current climate.
We firmly believe that safe and reliable access to natural compounds provided by nature should be a universal human right. Do you agree?
Unfortunately, reactive banks and aggressive prosecutors often threaten the livelihoods of legitimate businesses that provide their communities with safe, cheap and reliable alternatives to toxic for-profit Western medications.
As a result, many who are seeking natural relief are forced to turn to the streets.
Now is not the time to remain idle. Let us take action and advocate for our health and the well-being of our communities.
We do not condone breaking the law, but we ask every citizen to consider the damage that has been done to our communities due to these inhumane policies.
All Inner Circle members operate legal, licensed and legitimate businesses. If you’re ready to advocate for your health and the health of your community – consider joining us at Inner Circle.
Our community needs your voice.
