San Pedro - Plant Medicine For Leadership?
San Pedro – Plant Medicine For Leadership?
Life can get full.
Reevaluation is key when it comes to making meaningful progress while ensuring adequate self-care.
Especially for the last few months, I felt like I was primarily “in time” and subject to time, which is a “way of being” so common to most of us that we forget there is another way.
If you’ve never had a strong “medicinal/heroic dose” of psychedelics or have been highly conditioned to be a high performer from a young age.
San Pedro = “Having The Spaciousness To Expand”
That’s the best way I could describe the experience.
A chance to look at things from above them, instead of being so far down in them, we can’t see the forest for the trees.
Being chronically subject to clock time (all the time) can cause anyone to feel overly compressed and unsure how to decompress without unwinding or coming unglued like an old clock from a cartoon that was inevitably wound too tight for too long, springs and wheels going everywhere and the sound effects that go with it.
What Is San Pedro?
“Evidence of the consumption of San Pedro dates back thousands of years, with evidence from ancient cultures such as the Chavin and Chimú cultures—for example, stone carvings depicting shamans holding the San Pedro cactus.” (Thanks to Emma Reeves and the National Library of Medicine.)
Experience Notes:
- A beautiful day of ceremony and celebration of life at a magical location with ocean views. Our container of 18 people (4 facilitators) was the perfect blend for the healing that occurred for all involved.
- I drank “two cups” of San Pedro. One cup about two hours apart, Within about an hour, I I was “fully shifted” to a headspace where it was easier for me to have “big picture,” realizations including forgiveness. Also, my owning of my personal power in a more bold and fully embodied way.
- Realizing I hadn’t fully forgiven some crucial figures along my journey allowed me to more easily shift to a headspace where I could have gratitude for everything that happened and can be used to my personal maximum advantage (and for my maximum growth).
- BONUS : I also realized additional insights into my cannabis use and how to titrate best moving forward, and where and how to use the plant as a tool for expanding my awareness and not as a crutch.
Data Where It Counts
In the 24 hours following my San Pedro session, my Aura app demonstrated an immediate improvement in my restorative state throughout my day.
We are entering an exciting time of biometric tracking for workplace performance, tracking restorative cycles for leaders, and knowing what numbers to track.
Specifically to determine if a leader is ready for a new growth opportunity or is better off with some time off between them and their next big moves.
Every Body Is Different
Our website does not provide medical advice, but we do meet every week with leaders of companies of all shapes and sizes to talk about workplace wellness, growth planning, funding, and team goals.
Basically, if it involves being a human and leader at a company or in an organization (in today’s) world, we are here for it.
We meet weekly, live at the roundtable as equals, and are committed to solving problems as humans.
What a concept!
Throughout two decades of business and team building, we’ve realized that teams who prioritize a compassionate and evidence-based approach toward team-driven workplace wellness ultimately make more money, experience less employee turnover, and take fewer sick days.
The question we help you answer is how to do it in a way that pays the bills, boosts sales, lowers costs, and doesn’t make you go broke in the process.
San Pedro For Leadership Big Takeaways
- Simply being in a small group of people focused on self-knowledge and healing is such a powerful thing to be a part of, and I highly recommend it. Plant medicine, or not.
- After 36 hours of (post-session) integration, I feel a new sense of aliveness that wasn’t present leading up to the ceremony.
- The most beautiful gift (San Pedro offered me) was to be fully present, “IN” time, and not have to be anywhere or do anything (being ON time). This (according to Aura data) helped my nervous system reset and recalibrate.
