Santa Barbara Inner Circle & District216 Mastermind

In a creative container like the one we had at the District 216 Space, good ideas circulate almost constantly. Small group sessions are great for this.

On July 18th, we hosted our 1st mastermind with Jacob Tell, Mike Wald, and the District216 crew at their creative space in Santa Barbara.

We had mostly new faces (15 guests), and 5 Inner Circle members (20 total) joined tonight’s circle.

What’s an Inner Circle Mastermind?

Inner Circle hosts small-group business development and networking masterminds nationwide.

We meet monthly (usually somewhere in the US) to discuss leadership, advocacy, promotion of ideas, and, of course, networking/connecting with other business owners.

Our format (and the venues we select) are built to facilitate easy conversation, but the build-up is toward our roundtable session.

This is a 30-60 minute segment where each leader gets optional time in the “hot seat” to present their idea or ask to the group.

We find small rooms with verified business owners and team leaders makes for a unique space that allows us to get down to the business of leadership and running businesses in today’s world.

Some things you have to experience for yourself.

Some don’t believe us when we describe the type of powerful and lifelong connections often sparked by the group.

There’s something powerful (in today’s post-COVID world) about getting in your car or on a plane to show up and say, “Hi! we are building something we care about, do you know anyone who might be able to help?”

Are you building something important?

Most of you are.

You forget how much you matter because your head is “down in the work most days” (like all of us) but someone (or many) probably relies on what you do.

If you receive a paycheck or an owner’s draw, then lots of people depend on your role.

Not just your role but your ability to be a leader in your role.

Are you a leader?

You are already the CEO of your own life.

How are you doing?

Leadership is something most of us weren’t taught.

Some of us were lucky enough to pick up some things from hard-working families or mentors, but can we teach it to our team?

Mentorship is a lost art today, but not at Inner Circle.

After two decades of team building, my team has found mentorship to be one of the best ways to teach our teams important foundational leadership principles.

So they can make good decisions even when we are not around.

2023 InsideHigherEd.com estimates less than 35% of students experienced hands-on leadership development during their college years.

Inner Circle members get access to our leadership curriculum.  The same lessons we train our teams with as they prepare for leadership opportunities in our organizations.

It’s mini-course-based, short 15-20 minute videos with checklists and action steps they are instructed to take to team meetings and live support sessions that happen weekly on the platform.

This isn’t exactly how I thought I’d help maintain my family’s companies, but it saves us a ton of time.

We made our videos to specifically help key team members become more informed, level-headed decision-makers.

Not just that, but practical operations and even how to deal with the inevitable and essential human element of making decisions that affect people’s lives.

Growing up in a fast-growth family business from a young age, it’s fair to say I was thrust into leadership.

Now, Inner Circle is where cutting-edge entrepreneurs and stewards of family legacies source executive talent and train their current and future key people.

What connections matter to you?

You should consider attending our next Inner Circle Leaders Roundtable & Mastermind.

Apply to join our membership platform.  There’s free team training there, and we will happily give you and one key associate free tickets to one of our next in-person events.

Santa Barbara Conclusions:

Attendees of our SB event reported that our format helped them feel relaxed and comfortable about sharing their ideas and challenges the group of business owners and team leaders present that day.

New friends were made, and business connections strengthened!

Is Inner Circle Right For You?

Inner Circle members get personal access to the collective network of the people we rely on and do business with daily. At Inner Circle, our network is your network.
